Men's Waxing Treatments at Shwe

At Shwe, we provide expert male waxing services in a professional, welcoming environment.

If you’ve been trimming your nose hairs with nail scissors, getting your girlfriend to pluck your eyebrows, or battling chest stubble with a razor – it’s time to upgrade!

Waxing gives you smoother, longer-lasting results with less regrowth and no stubble – and the more you wax, the slower your hair grows back. It’s science!

Whether it’s your back, chest, shoulders, arms, legs, eyebrows, nose, or ears, our skilled therapists use high-quality wax to keep things tidy with way less hassle than shaving.

We’re open 7 days a week, with late-night appointments until 9pm on weekdays, so there’s always a time that suits you.

Please note: We do not offer any intimate waxing services for male clients.

Getting to Know Your Wax

We use two types of wax to ensure the most effective and comfortable hair removal experience:

Warm Wax (Strip Wax): Applied in the direction of hair growth, then removed with a strip, making it ideal for larger areas such as the back, chest, shoulders, arms, and legs.

Hot Wax: Applied directly to the skin, left to cool, and then removed without a strip. This method is more suitable for sensitive areas such as the face.

Before Your First Waxing Treatment

Do:
✔ Let your hair grow long enough to pinch (usually around 4 weeks).
✔ Exfoliate and moisturise regularly before your appointment to help lift any ingrown hairs, ensuring a smoother wax.

Do Not:
✖ Use a sunbed or expose yourself to sunlight 24 hours before your appointment.
✖ Apply fake tan—this should be done 24 hours after your wax.
✖ Shave for at least 4 weeks before your wax for the best results.

After Your Treatment

To keep your skin smooth and irritation-free, follow these aftercare guidelines:

Do Not:
✖ Have hot baths or showers for 24 hours.
✖ Use a sunbed or expose yourself to sunlight for 24 hours.
✖ Do any excessive exercise (gym, running, etc.) for 24 hours.
✖ Apply fake tan, deodorant, or perfumed products to the waxed area for 24 hours.
✖ Shave between wax appointments, as this disrupts the hair growth cycle.

Do:
✔ Exfoliate the waxed area regularly to prevent ingrown hairs.
✔ Moisturise daily to keep your skin soft and hydrated.
✔ Rebook within 4 weeks for the best long-term waxing results.

Keep Conversations Respectful – We are a professional salon, and we ask that all discussions remain appropriate during your treatment.

Personal Space & Boundaries – For the comfort and professionalism of our team, we ask that you do not touch the therapist at any time during your treatment.

Mens Treatments FAQ

Do you offer men’s intimate waxing?

No, we do not provide intimate waxing services for male clients. We offer professional waxing treatments for the face, back, chest, arms, and legs in a comfortable and professional setting.

Do I need to trim my hair before my waxing appointment?

No, please do not trim or shave before your waxing appointment. For the best results, your hair should be at least the length of a grain of rice (around 4 weeks of growth) to ensure the wax can grip properly.

Will the treatment be painful?

Everyone’s pain tolerance is different, but we use high-quality wax and professional techniques to minimise discomfort. If it’s your first time waxing, you may feel more sensitivity, but regular waxing reduces discomfort over time as hair becomes finer.

Do I need to do anything before my waxing appointment?

Yes! For the best results:

Exfoliate and moisturise regularly before your appointment to lift any ingrown hairs.
Avoid sunbeds or sun exposure for 24 hours before waxing.
Do not apply fake tan before your appointment.

How often should I book my waxing treatments?

We recommend booking every 4-6 weeks for the best long-term results. Regular waxing helps to weaken hair regrowth, making future treatments easier and more comfortable.

Do I need a patch test before my first waxing appointment?

A patch test is only required for diabetic clients or those with known skin sensitivities. If you're unsure, please contact us before booking.

What’s the difference between hot wax and strip wax?

Strip Wax (Warm Wax): Applied in the direction of hair growth and removed with a strip, best for larger areas like the back, chest, arms, and legs.

Hot Wax: Applied directly to the skin and removed without a strip, best for sensitive areas like the face.

Your therapist will choose the best wax for your skin type, but if you have any preferences or sensitivities, please let us know before your treatment.

Is waxing suitable for all skin types?

Most clients can have waxing treatments, but if you are on acne medication (Roaccutane), using anti-ageing products, have sunburnt skin, or a medical condition such as diabetes, please contact us before booking.

Can I shave between waxes?

No, shaving interrupts the hair growth cycle and can make your next wax more uncomfortable. To maintain smooth results, wax every 4-6 weeks.

How should I care for my skin after waxing?

Avoid hot showers, sunbeds, and sweating (exercise) for 24 hours.
Exfoliate regularly to prevent ingrown hairs.
Moisturise daily to keep skin hydrated.

Can I work out after my wax?

No, we recommend avoiding excessive sweating, gym sessions, or running for 24 hours after waxing, as sweat can irritate freshly waxed skin.

How long will the results last?

Results typically last 3-6 weeks, depending on your hair growth cycle. Regular waxing can slow regrowth and make hair finer over time.
